Monica Barnett - 25 June 2011
I recently got married at the One&Only, Cape Town and can't say enough good things about it! From the moment I saw our chosen venue (Yoga Pavilion), I just knew it was where I wanted to get married.
Our ceremony was small and intimate and the attention I received from the hotel's wedding planner, Adele Bennett and her team, and their strict attention to detail - ensured I had the day of my dreams. The hotel staff were true professionals, and were spot on with their recommendations in terms of flowers, decor and even the cake they designed and made for us. I didn't feel pressured to sign up for anything I didn't want, and they were very accommodating with regards to a few special requests I had.
Adele was very good about confirming everything in writing, so there were never any misunderstandings, and the hotel was very easy - going about showing us the venue and rooms more than once, as we finalised details. The wedding day itself was clearly well thought out, and the venue looked even better than I had imagined. It was breath taking - with views of Table Mountain and the hotel's waterway. The staff somehow managed to stay in the background, while ensuring that everything went ahead as discussed and planned. After our ceremony, we went up to our suite (extremely spacious, modern, well equipped) to find it decorated with rose petals and candles, and enjoyed some champagne out on the balcony. We then had an intimate dinner for 2 served up in our room by our own personal waiter and sommelier who was on hand to help us with our wine selections. The menu was exactly what we had discussed with the chef during the planning process and it was splendid. The food was well prepared and tasty, and I really could not think of a better way to end a truly special day!
The hotel is magnificent and truly luxurious, and the staff were extremely attentive. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel as a wedding venue and the small, extra touches made all the difference.
