Nobu Cape Town Achieves 9th Place At The 2011 Eat Out DSTV Food Network Restaurant Awards

One&Only Cape Town is proud to announce that last night, Nobu Cape Town was recognised for its unique contribution to the country’s culinary landscape at a glittering awards ceremony and gala dinner at the Rotunda at the Bay Hotel, Camps Bay. Awarded a coveted Top 10 Best Restaurant placement in the 2011 Eat Out DSTV Food Network Restaurant Awards, chef Hideki Maeda and his brigade of top notch chefs are understandably thrilled at the recognition that has been awarded this leading city restaurant situated at five-star resort One&Only Cape Town.

The award comes at the end of a fantastic year for the Cape Town representative of a renowned global culinary brand. Recently included in the prestigious American Express Platinum fine dining awards and programme for 2012, when Nobu first opened their doors in 2009, they entered a competitive market with their unique dining concept.

The restaurant has proven itself with a unique brand of traditional Japanese Kaiseki dining that is married with fusion tradition – the signature cuisine style developed by brand founder Chef Nobu Matsuhisa.

“When we opened One&Only Cape Town we wanted to bring something unique to the city’s landscape and this included an unforgettable dining experience – the Nobu brand was an obvious choice and we’re thrilled the South African public agrees”, says the resort’s Managing Director Clive Bennett. Such is the meticulous nature of preparation and presentation of the food at Nobu, that chef Hideki-san personally prepared each and every one of the 360-plus starters served at this year’s Eat Out Awards. His innovative Baby spinach salad with dried miso and crayfish offering was a precursor to an evening meal prepared by fellow award winners Luke Dale-Roberts, Michael Broughton and George Jardine.
