One&Only Spa Cape Town ends 2011 on a high note with another prestigious international accolade –a Spa Silver Sage Readers Choice Award for Best Spa in the Middle East and Africa.
There’s no doubt that the Spa based at the One&Only urban resort in the heart of Cape Town’s V&A Waterfront is a world-class operation. And it’s clear that the readers of acclaimed international industry magazine Spa agree. The resort Spa which is situated on its own island at the hotel was recently awarded a Spa Silver Sage Readers Choice Award for best spa in the Middle East and Africa, another feather in the cap for this sophisticated spa property.
The latest in a string of awards recently awarded to this renowned spa (among them SpaFinder Readers’ Choice Award for best Spa in Africa in 2011 as well as SpaFinder Best Spa Interiors in Africa), the staff at One&Only Spa Cape Town are understandably thrilled with their latest prestigious award.
The biggest stand-alone spa in the city is situated on its own waterside island and plays host to some twelve treatment rooms, each decorated in soothing Afro Zen tones and an outdoor yoga pavilion.
The Spa is the only facility in South Africa to have a dedicated Bastien Gonzalez studio where the brand’s cult ‘medi pedis’ are on offer and it is also the only spa in South Africa to provide a menu of beauty and body treatments using the famed ESPA range of products and treatments. These are on offer in conjunction with a specially developed menu of body treatment ‘journeys’. All Spa guests have complimentary access to all facilities in this 2000m2 oasis – including refreshing vitality pools as well as sauna and steam room amenities.
Says Spa Manager Rosemary Read “It’s been a phenomenal year for us, we’ve really put our heads down and worked hard to try and make ours the best spa in the country and we’re thrilled that others agree”. Some of the developments at the Spa include expanding the regular clientele base to embrace the local market better, increasing the offerings on the menu to include treatments for time-strapped guests and introducing new concepts on the treatment menu to showcase African methods and indigenous ingredients.
In a world where a great spa is no longer a ‘nice-to-have’ at an A-list hotel but an essential, One&Only Spa Cape Town has ensured they are top of their game. With an outstanding year and ample international recognition for the Spa in 2011, the next year looks set to be an excellent one indeed. Rosemary reiterates “Our aim is to continue to offer a level of service and expertise that surpasses others in our industry and we look forward to the challenges of the coming year”.
