One&Only Cape Town is looking for Commis Chef to join the successful world renowned Nobu Culinary team.
The candidate will be required to perform many basic tasks of food preparation and organization within this specialised kitchen. They should be able to work under pressure in a high-stress environment. We are looking for a fast learner who must be able to effectively communicate with other members of the kitchen staff and remain calm while multi-tasking. High standards of health and safety, including personal hygiene are imperative.
This position requires shift work including weekends and public holidays.
Education/ Experience/ Competencies:
• Standard 10 (Matric) • 3 years Hotel School / Culinary/Cookery National Diploma • Hygiene course • Basic food handling • Good, clean tidy appearance • Positive thinking and helpful attitude to fellow employees and guests • Good verbal and written English
